MORTALITY

Do you know that there are two phases of death: apparent (first few minuets) and biological. Contemporary physicians ascertain that resuscitation is possible only after no more than five-six minutes in the state of apparent death and after near 60 minuets if the body is under the cooling condition. The last refers to the fact that nervous cells can stay without nutrition under lower temperatures longer than under the regular temperature. For example, human brain can exist separately from body no more than two and half of hours if provided with appropriate nutrition. Other organs of body can keep vital capacity even longer under the special conditions.
Do you know that, if we only can decline temperature of our body on 2 centigrade it would substantially enhance the term of our live and give us additional 200 years. But for all that, the pace of life will not remain the same (e.g. capacity to work, perception). Under such conditions, all physiological process will pass slowly.

GERONTOLOGY

Do you know that there are such sciences as geriatrics and gerontology? These sciences research all problems connected with ageing and senescence. There are many main streams in these sciences, such as social gerontology, fundamental gerontology /physiological, molecular, neuro-hormonic and genetic schools/, geriatrics /addresses problems of the medical treatment of old people/.
Do you know about wide spread scientific notion, which connects life term of female with her reproductive ability. Statistics shows that the later female has a first child the longer she lives, and opposite: the earlier she gives born, the shorter she lives. Other researches describe correlation between longevity of parents and quantity of chidden. The more children they have, the shorter parents’ life. General conclusion is the later and the fewer children you have, the longer you live. But, from the other hand older parents have bigger risk to have a child with genetic anomalies. Also, it is detected that duration of daughters life term correlates with their mothers’ life term. At the same time, the sons’ life term essentially less dependent from the parents’ life terms.
